The Business Challenge
Following feedback from patients and staff at the surgery, the practice manager thought that it might be an idea to introduce some new procedures regarding communicating messages within the surgery.
The Solution
The practice manager contacted Greenwich Community College as we met to discuss the details of the training required. We soon realised that we would need to design a course specifically for the surgery to cover the exact issues that had arisen and the changes to procedures that were being introduced. So we designed The Professional Communicator course.
We also needed to run the training at a time that was suitable for the whole team to attend to ensure that everyone was involved and had a chance add their input. We therefore ran the course over 2 mornings at the surgery, with a two week break in between to allow for the first session to have an impact before reflecting on this in the second session.
The Impact
All staff members that attended fedback that they would recommend the training to others. They found the course enjoyable and felt that they would be more attentive to patients in the future.
