Charity Casino Night a Success
Posted 15th June
The first Greenwich Community Business Unit Charity Casino event proved to be a success on two fronts. As well as raising money for Demelza Hospice for Children, six of the trainee croupiers have been invited for an interview by Genting Casinos who own Crockfords, the oldest private gaming club in the world.
The event, held at London Gaming College on 27 May, attracted over 80 people including a range of local employers and casino industry experts. The event included a range of tables including Roulette and Black Jack and an opportunity for local employers to network with each other and find out more about training provided by the Business Unit.
The event also coincided with assessments for the croupiers who had recently completed their 20 week course. Richard Poynor, London Casino Director for Genting UK was looking for potential recruits. He said:
“We were all truly impressed with the high standard of the operation at the Gaming Academy.”
There was also an opportunity for guests to donate to the college’s chosen charity, Demelza Hospice for Children. James Hunt from Demelza was also delighted with the event:
“Events like this are vital for raising awareness for Demelza. I would like to thank Greenwich Community College and their guests for their contributions tonight.”
