What does the course include?
This qualification is ideal for learners who’d like to develop their knowledge of the airline industry, improve their career prospects, progress to further training or complete the programme as part of their own continuous professional development. The qualification will be appropriate for those individuals who are seeking employment within the Airport Passenger Services sector as well as those wishing to increase their knowledge in the tourism and passenger transport sectors. Alternatively this could be utilised by individuals currently working in the industry who are wishing to receive recognition of their experiences and expertise.
There are 6 mandatory units for this qualification:
- Unit 01 Research the airport industry and the role of the Airport Passenger Services Agent
- Unit 02 Understand airport knowledge required by the Airport Passenger Services Agent
- Unit 03 Deal effectively with the processing of aircraft passengers
- Unit 04 Identify the boarding procedure for aircraft passengers
- Unit 05 Identify the procedures for decontrolling aircraft passengers
- Unit 06 Procedures involved in the disembarkation of airline passengers.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airport Passenger Services Agents, learners must complete all 6 mandatory units.
The qualification aims to provide an understanding of the industry and develop generic skills and knowledge of the duties required to be an Airport Passenger Services Agent, develop an understanding of airport communications, terminology and relevant safety checks and procedures, provide candidates with knowledge of customer care and how to handle the needs of airline passengers and provide a basis for further study and motivation towards career development.

What do I need to get onto this course?
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification.
Learners will be expected to have a good level of both written and spoken English.
How will I be assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed and externally moderated. Each candidate is required to create a portfolio of evidence which shows that they’ve met the standards associated with each unit.
