The course fee includes course material and exam fees. You will also need the 17th Edition Regulations (BS7671) Book. This costs £75 and can be ordered from the college prior to the course.

What does the course include?

This 30 hour course (run over 10 evenings) is for qualified electricians and associated trades, e.g. electrical technicians, electricians, lift engineers, maintenance electricians, domestic installers.

It covers all stages of installation from planning to testing.

This course complies with the British Standard 7671(2011) First amendment to the City and Guilds 17th edition Wiring Regulations.

What are the benefits for employers?

It is a legal requirement that employers in the industry have qualified electricians working for them. Failure to do so will increase the health and safety risks and have a negative impact on reputation.

What do I need to get onto this course?

For the full course, students must have Electrical Installation (City & Guilds 2330 Level 2 and 3 (236 part 2 after 2004) or have completed a 16th edition qualification between 1989 and 2001 (or equivalent construction/engineering qualifications).

How will I be assessed?

There will be a 2 hour online examination at the end of the course.

The exam can be booked at a time convenient to the student at enrolment.

Where does it lead?

Upon successful completion of this course you will then be able to progress on the City & Guilds 2392 and 2391 or City & Guilds 2377.
