What does the course include?
If you have up to date working knowledge and practical experience in a vocational area, and are a qualified assessor. This award will allow for the assessment of candidates in your area of expertise.
This course is work based. After the initial course induction, all further underpinning knowledge and tutor meetings take place in the workplace.
The course will allow you to:
- Develop plans for assessing competence with candidates
- Assess candidates against agreed standards of competence using a range of assessment methods
- Judge evidence against set criteria to make assessment decisions
- Give candidates feedback on their assessment decisions
- Contribute to the internal quality assurance process of a centre
What are the benefits for employers?
Internal verifiers fully understand what is required for the job. They can also spend more time supporting each trainee and work with them through their problems, as well as deciding when they are ready for assessment.
This has benefits to the individual in terms of the support they receive, as well as for the company in ensuring both the quality of the programme and assessment of what is required for the job.
What do I need to get onto this course?
This course is for qualified and experienced QCF Assessors who are seeking to be involved with internally verifying QCF candidates’ work and giving feedback to assessors about their decisions. You should be in a position where you are supervising the work of other assessors, and giving them guidance and support.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by means of a portfolio of evidence gathered from a professional discussion with your assessor, and observations of you giving feedback to an assessor.
