What does the course include?
First Aid at Work is approved by the Health and Safety Executive. It covers primary and secondary care and the treatment and management of medical emergencies in the work place. This is a very informative course and students will enjoy taking part in active exercises, which simulate emergency situations
It covers situations arising in industry, in particular for the larger company or those operating in a more hazardous environment. It is suitable for:
- The larger company
- Offices with 50 plus employees
- Engineering companies with more than 20 employees
- High risk employment with more than 5 employees
The course is 4 days long and includes 24 hours of training.
What are the benefits for employers?
It will help reduce the risks to customers and staff in the workplace. It will also help reduce staff sick leave taken due to accidents in the workplace.
What do I need to get onto this course?
Candidates must be 16 years or older at the start of the course
How will I be assessed?
Assessment takes part on the last day of the course. You will attend lectures, demonstrations, practical application and pass a practical and theoretical examination.
Where does it lead?
You will become a First Aider at Work. You will need to take the 2 day First Aid Refresher course every three years to remain up to date. Emergency First Aid training can also be arranged lasting 4 – 6 hours annually as an additional update.
