What does the course include?

The Association of Accounting Technicians is the professional body for qualified accounting technicians/support staff working in accounting/finance functions. The study programme is divided into three stages:

  • Stage 1 – Foundation (QCF Level 2)
  • Stage 2 – Intermediate (QCF Level 3)
  • Stage 3 – Technician (QCF Level 4)

This course is the third stage and is assessed by a combination of Central Assessment (exam set and marked by the AAT) and Devolved Assessment (assessed by the college). Level 3 builds on Accounting Skills and Knowledge already acquired.

AAT accredited staff make finance departments more adaptable and means that they are seen as a quality organisation to work for.

What do I need to get onto this course?

Intermediate Stage, Accounting Degree. Acceptance onto any course is normally by interview only.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is a a combination of Central Assessment (set and marked by the AAT) and Devolved Assessment (assessed by the college).

Where does it lead?

To employment or university or to further professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA.
