What does the course include?

The following elements of this unit must be obtained as “evidence”:

  • Maintaining and developing your own competence and specialism
  • Sustaining working relationships with colleagues in the cultural heritage sector
  • Promoting the care and use of items
  • Promoting the benefits of the organisation to other people

What do I need to get onto this course?

This qualification is for professionals working in museums e.g. curators, directors or working with “items” e.g. art historians, conservators.

All evidence must be generated in a working cultural heritage organisation or an organisation concerned with the collection, preservation or interpretation of cultural heritage.

How will I be assessed?

Assessor observation of handling items, personal reports, assessment of evidence e.g. appraisals, professional memberships, papers, correspondence, presentations and professional discussion and questioning.

Where does it lead?

The G3 unit is one of four routes to the AMA (Associateship of Museum Association).
